Animal Sacrifice

It was narrated that Zaid bin Arqam said:

“The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what are these sacrifices?’ He said: ‘The Sunnah of your father Ibrahim.’ They said: ‘What is there for us in them, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘For every hair, one merit.’ They said: ‘What about wool, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘For every hair of wool, one merit.’”

Similar to Qurbani, voluntary Animal sacrifice is a means of reward for the donor and great benefit to the poor through the feeding and distribution of meat.

This can be done for Aqeeqah (sacrifice in gratitude at the birth of a child), Walimah (sacrifice in gratitude at the time of marriage), and all other optional sacrifices. As well as being a Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the reward equates to the amount of hair on the sacrificed animal, as mentioned by the beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Animal sacrifices are performed in India, West Bengal, The Gambia, Ghana and Syria. The meat of these animals is then prepared and served or distributed to poor & needy students, Orphans and widows.

Animal sacrifices can be carried out the very next day, or if you would like the animal sacrifice to be carried out on a specific day please contact the projects team on 0116 276 33 44
