Ghana Water Purification project

In 2018, over 3 million people in Ghana have no choice but to collect dirty water from unsafe sources.

Women and children are forced to drink dirty and unsafe water, and due to drinking contaminated water, diarrheal disease is the third most commonly reported illness at health centres across the country.

Caravan of Mercy has launched its largest water project to date, we aim to install a purification plant in Northern Ghana so thousands of people can finally have access to clean safe water.

The need for purification plants in Northern Ghana is great. In March 2015 Caravan of Mercy visited Northern Ghana and got to witness the reality of this great crisis.

It is now 2018 and even though much funds have been collected, we still have not reached our target allowing us to commence this project.

World Water Day 2015

Water is an essential of life, yet 783 millions people around the world still don’t have access to clean water and almost 2.5 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation. One of the most common causes of death in the developing world is drinking dirty and diseased water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation causes 80% of diseases and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Over 500,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

In the countries we work, the poor and needy have to sometimes walk between 5 and 20 KM to get access to water.

Caravan of Mercy aims to play an active part in trying to provide safe clean water around the world. We aim to achieve this by installing hand pumps and boreholes in those areas that are most in need.

With your donations we have already installed more than 850 hand pumps and boreholes in Africa and Asia.

Drink Safe Water Appeal

Caravan of Mercy have launched an appeal to install 10 deep tube wells in West Bengal.
Caravan of Mercy aims to provide safe and clean drinking water to those areas that are most in need.

One of the most common causes of death in the developing world is drinking dirty and diseased water.
Without access to clean water communities are more vulnerable to illness and diseases. In West Bengal pure water is very difficult to find as water can be contaminated by sewage discharge and floods.

The prophet (Peace be upon him) was asked which is the best form of charity?

He (Peace be upon him)replied “Providing drinking water”. (Sunan Abi Dawood)

The cost of 1 Deep Tube well is £1200.00

Donating towards our water projects is a great way to gain Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing rewards)
